Uuru-Qol-Saj

The word "kol" (meaning "arm" or "lower part of the arm") in several Turkic languages developed a secondary geographical meaning - "lowland", "valley", "riverbed", etc. While this metaphorical meaning gradually fell out of active speech usage among many Turkic peoples, it has been preserved in toponyms. The term "kol" extends beyond Turkic and Mongolian languages, belonging to the broader Altaic language family.
